Bonus Poker

Just like with normal video poker, players in Bonus Poker are dealt five cards and must try to make a strong poker hand in order to win money. Anybody who has played five-card draw poker should feel extremely comfortable, as the concept is the same: Choose cards from your five to discard which will be replaced from the deck, and in that way try to make the best hand possible. Unsurprisingly, the higher the poker hand ranking the higher the payout, with the Royal Flush being the highest paying, although the lowest hand which pays does change somewhat from Video Poker variant to variant.

The paytables below are listed in order. If the plan is to play Bonus Poker, then you should choose casinos from the top paytable.

99.166% is the possible payout with a 50/80 format if Bonus Poker is played optimally.

It is called “50/80” because of the single coin payouts for straight flushes and 4 aces respectively.

The lowest ranked poker hand which pays out in Bonus Poker is the same as in the traditional Jacks and Better Video Poker game: a pair of Jacks. This is a very standard cutoff found in many different video poker variants, but the added excitement from Bonus Poker comes from a higher payout on hitting 4-of-a-kind than in other games. Bonus Poker is a great game for starting out with Video Poker or if you’re looking for a slight change from your current favorite variation, because the rules are identical to the original but with even better chances to win!

Although the biggest change to the payout structure of Bonus Poker is a higher reward for 4-of-a-kind hands, there are also some other smaller changes. Firstly it should be noted that four of a kind 5s through Kings do not pay out at a higher rate, but 2s-4s pay out 60% higher in Bonus Poker and four Aces pays out over three times the normal rate. The other alterations are slightly negative for players, with a lower payout rate for flushes and full houses, but the 4-of-a-kind payouts more than make up for this.

There are heaps of reasons why Bonus Poker is a cool game, regardless of whether you’ve never wagered a single dollar online in your life or you’ve been playing other casino games or even other video poker variants and want to mix things up a little. The learning curve is very easy, the bigger 4-of-a-kind payout is awesome, and the game has enough of a hands-on feel to make playing a whole lot of fun. Who knows, maybe it could be your lucky day!
